Welcome to My Bonafide Rareties ("MBR," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service govern your use of mybonafiderareties.com, including browsing, creating an account, subscribing to a membership plan, listing items for sale, and purchasing items from other members. By using MBR, you agree to these Terms.
1. What MBR Is
My Bonafide Rareties is a community marketplace for handmade goods, custom builds, collectibles, antiques, and original art. Members can browse listings, purchase items, list their own work for sale, and participate in community features such as activity feeds and knowledge guides.
2. Membership Tiers
MBR offers the following membership tiers:
- Free: Browse listings, view item details, and use basic search — at no cost.
- Pro Member ($7.99/month): Includes everything in Free, plus access to the community activity feed, knowledge & learning guides, AI tools such as the Antique Valuator, and priority support.
- Seller Plan ($12.99/month): Includes everything in Pro, plus the ability to create product listings, access a seller dashboard with analytics, track payouts, upload multiple photos per listing, and receive featured placement.
Pro and Seller plans include a 7-day free trial. No payment is required to start a trial, and you may cancel before the trial ends without being charged. After the trial, your selected plan will bill automatically each month until cancelled.
3. Buying on MBR
When you purchase an item, you are entering into a transaction directly with the seller. MBR facilitates the listing, payment processing, and communication, but the seller is responsible for the accuracy of their listing, the condition of the item, and fulfilling the order (including shipping or delivery, where applicable).
Some listings — such as custom furniture builds or outdoor installations — are made to order and may involve a quote, site visit, or build timeline agreed upon directly between buyer and seller before final pricing is confirmed.
4. Selling on MBR
To list items for sale, you must be on the Seller Plan. As a seller, you agree to:
- Provide accurate descriptions, pricing, and photos for each listing
- Only list items you have the right to sell, including original artwork and handmade goods you or your business created
- Fulfill completed orders in a timely manner
- Respond to buyer communications in good faith
5. Platform Fee
MBR charges a 5% platform transaction fee on each completed sale. This fee is automatically deducted from the seller's payout at the time of the transaction. There are no additional hidden fees beyond standard Stripe payment processing.
6. Payments & Payouts
All payments, subscription billing, and seller payouts are processed through Stripe. By subscribing or selling on MBR, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to these Terms. MBR is not responsible for delays or issues caused by Stripe's payment processing systems.
7. Custom Builds & Local Services
Certain sellers offer custom-built items (such as handmade furniture or outdoor installations) that require coordination beyond a standard listing, including in-person site visits. These services are currently offered in San Antonio, Texas and surrounding areas (including Poteet, Somerset, and Floresville). Pricing for custom builds is an estimate until a final scope is agreed upon between buyer and seller.
8. One-of-a-Kind Items
Listings marked as "One of One" or "Original" represent unique items with only one available unit. Once purchased, the listing will be marked as sold and removed from active browsing.
9. Community Conduct
When using community features (activity feed, messages, comments), you agree not to post content that is harassing, fraudulent, infringing on others' intellectual property, or otherwise unlawful. MBR reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Cancellations & Refunds
You may cancel your Pro or Seller subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds for marketplace purchases are handled on a case-by-case basis directly between buyer and seller, with MBR available to help mediate disputes where needed.
11. Disclaimers
MBR provides the platform "as is." We do not guarantee the quality, safety, accuracy, or legality of listings, and we are not a party to transactions between buyers and sellers. Any AI-powered tools (such as the Antique Valuator) provide estimates for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional appraisals.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of MBR after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
